Step 1: Install the Drift See App
Search for Drift See on Google Play or the Apple App Store, then download and install the application on your mobile phone.
Step 2: Register and Log In to Your Account
1. Launch the Drift See App.
2. Grant all requested app permissions when prompted.
3. Tap the Me tab on the bottom navigation bar.
4. Tap Sign In if you already have an account; select Sign Up to create a new account if you are a first-time user.
Step 3: Connect Your X5 Device to a Network
1. Tap the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap the + icon located in the top-right corner.
3. Enter the Wi-Fi name and password of your target network (either a home router or your mobile hotspot). Note that the Wi-Fi name can only contain English letters and numerals; special characters are not supported.
4. Tap Confirm to generate a QR code.
5. Power on your X5 device, then follow the on-screen prompts within the app to complete the network connection process for the X5.
Step 4: Activate Your X5 Device
Once your X5 and mobile phone are connected to the same network, the X5 will automatically appear on the Devices page:
1. Tap the Activate button inside the X5 device bar.
2. Enter a custom device name in the pop-up window, then tap Activate. You will be redirected back to the Devices page.
3. Wait several seconds until the X5 icon displays in the center of the device bar — your X5 is now activated and linked to Drift Cloud.
Step 5: Invite Friends or Colleagues to Access the X5
1. Tap the Me tab on the bottom navigation bar.
2. Select Group, then tap Add Member. The app will automatically copy an invitation code to your clipboard.
3. Share this invitation code with your friends or colleagues via messaging platforms.
For Invited Users (Friends/Colleagues)
1. Install the Drift See App on their mobile device and complete account registration following Step 2 above.
2. Navigate to the Me tab and open the Group page.
3. Paste the invitation code into the input box and tap Join Group to submit an access request.
After an invited user submits their join request:
1. Go to Me > Group > Members.
2. You will see the applicant listed with a status marked as Pending.
3. Tap the Pending label to approve their request; their status will update to Joined once approved.
Once your contacts are granted access to the X5, they can locate the online device on the Drift See App homepage when the X5 is powered on and connected:
1. Tap the green phone icon to enter the video call interface.
2. On the video page, the user can view real-time live footage streamed from the X5. Tap the microphone icon to enable two-way audio communication for voice chats.
3. Tap the Arrow icon to expand the control menu, where the contact can remotely adjust your device’s settings including zoom in/out, brightness, and image clarity.
4. To end the video session, tap the red phone icon to exit the page — live streaming from the X5 will terminate simultaneously.
